There are several facets to project budget management. Keeping costs within your planned budget is an important part of this, but it isn't the only thing to consider. A good project manager understands that communications, managing scope, tracking time and resources, and catching mistakes early are also part of this process. By implementing the tips above, you can build your client's confidence in your ability to successfully execute a project while maintaining control of the budget you've been provided. This can make all the difference in your reputation, and whether or not your finished project is a success or not.
