• The leader should be a role model

  • Practice what you preach!
• Focus on delegation

  • It's the best way to get commitment
• Obtain agreement on all major actions

  • Not necessarily by consensus but by consent if necessary
• Recognize the existence of team politics

  • But try to stay neutral
• Don't try to manipulate team members
