Effort Time and Elapsed Time - 3

If an activity

• Can be done by two people

  • Then the elapsed time is theoretically half the effort time
  • But it never is because the output rate of two people working together is not twice that of a single person
• Can only be done by one person

  • The elapsed time is still inevitably longer than the theoretical time
  • Because of moving the output from one person to the next in the project activity chain
