Tips before writing IS/IT contracts - 1

Before the contract is prepared

• Make sure you know what you want done

  • If you don't, spend more time finding out!
• If your project warrants having a work breakdown structure

  • Prepare the WBS before formulating the contract
• If you have a standard printed contract, use it

  • But don’t expect the contractor to read the small print (that’s usually left to the lawyers!)
