The project environment is different

There is a big difference between an operational and a project environment

• Projects involve some degree of "newness"
• They are almost always "one-time" only
• There are more unknowns and risks
• They exist for a finite period - the project life span

  • Whether a few days or many years
• Ending when the "one-time product" is delivered

  • And the project team is dispersed
