• Lack of historical data
• Unreliable data
• Unrealistic assumptions
• Unreasonable schedule, cost or other constraints
• Over optimism
• New, untried technology or processes
• Scope, requirements instability (potential scope creep)
• Extensive complexity
• Unrealistic benefit projections
• Lack of management or public support
• Inexperienced analysts
