2. Over scheduling of daily time
It is unrealistic
- To schedule 100% of people's time
- There are inevitably other things to attend to
- Like reporting, answering questions, coordination
- To say nothing of comfort breaks
- 80% is a reasonable productivity level in most cases
Similarly, working prolonged overtime
- Is self-defeating
- There is simply a natural tendency to settle back to a normal production comfort level
- And spread it over the longer hours
- When in a project crunch
- Keep the period short and distribute the load
