At the outset
- The project manager must understand the big picture
- Where did the project come from?
- Why is it needed?
- What is it expected to accomplish?
- What does the initiator or sponsor really have in mind?
If you don't know the answers to these questions
- You are entitled to a more thorough briefing
- So, go and ask, and ask
- Until the intent is clear beyond doubt
- Get it written down as your mission statement
- Written by you if necessary!
