Consider a software utility project

You have developed a utility that you must install at several satellite office locations. However, not all offices have the storage capacity or latest operating system

- Is it a risk because you have to install?

• No, that is a requirement
- Is it a risk that an office will end up without the utility?

• No, that is the effect, relative to this project (However, it could be a risk for a subsequent dependent project)
- Is it a risk that the utility will not install for some reason?

• Yes, that is the uncertainty
• You will not know until you try
