The Source of a Work Package

• Breaking down the total project scope into identifiable pieces helps to

  • Understand the project, and
  • How to manage it
  • As described in other Issacons, the result isa "Product Breakdown Structure"

• If the "Scope of Work" is used as the source document

  • The result is a (true) "Work Breakdown Structure"

• Either way, the lowest developed level of a WBS branch is referred to as a Work Package
